Agency and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Before you sell or buy, you should have a clear understanding of
whos who in real estate. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania thinks
so, too. Agents can represent Sellers. Agents can represent Buyers. Sometimes
agents will work with both the Buyer and the Seller when Buyers and Sellers
wish it to be so. The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission has written
an explanation of agency as it applies to real estate in a
document it calls the Consumer
Notice.
Pennsylvania law requires that agents have their customers read and sign
this document before they have a substantive conversation together. So
here it is. Please take time to read it. You can print it out, sign it, and email it to me at loretta@lorettawitt.com, or fax it to me at 215-242-3425, or mail it to me at 8400 Germantown Avenue, Suite 2, Philadelphia, PA 19118. Then we can get down to business.
Thanks.
