A bit of history: 6835 Gorsten Street was built in 1906-07 as part of a sixty acre real estate development by one of Philadelphia's major developers of that era, Frank Mauran (1864-1954). He negotiated with the Reading Railroad to build a new commuter rail station at his own cost if the Reading would agree to stop its trains there.
